Welcome to the Project ABEL (Artificial Intelligence Based Electronic Life), one of the many research and development initiatives in the Genesis Interactive Lab environment. ABEL was set up on the 7th of June, 2008 as an R&D initiative for harnessing the currently expansive world of Artificial Intelligence into self sufficient, intellectual, electronic entities - Robots.

But unlike the traditional deployment space of such beings, ABEL is focussed on having an online application to serve it’s purpose of existence. Have a chat with ABEL now...
Introduction

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to an algorithm or set of algorithms that can make decisions in a logical way. Currently, the advancements made in the field of AI, allow us to take this technology one step further and develop smarter, better, faster and more logic driven applications.

The current state of AI, although is still considered nascent, has the capability of producing entities that can learn from humans and over a period of time, can begin to replicate human behavior.

The Objective

At Genesis Interactive we have taken on the mission to produce one such technology that will utilise AI in it’s current state and produce virtual beings that can make judgements and decisions similar to humans, can interact just like humans do and someday maybe become like humans (literally).

The Process

Using the core principals of AI our development team headed by CEO, Manas Kumar will attempt to educate a base electronic/virtual being to understand a set of rules and logic. For example, we will train ABEL to learn everything there is about Genesis Interactive and all it’s products and services. Using our own imagination we will then give ABEL a personality of his own.

Now armed with relevant information and a personality, ABEL will be able to answer any question you ask him about Genesis Interactive. His responses can be humorous, sarcastic, lame, rude or judgmental depending on your question and the tone of your question.

What’s best is once ABEL is created, he will have the ability to judge what is a good answer for a particular question and whether or not it is appropriate to be firm in his responses with someone. This involves a process of continuos learning and development on part of ABEL through interactions, categories, topics and modals we assign to ABEL.

In stage 2 of this research we will give ABEL a voice and then he will be able to talk (not just chat) with you and respond according to the tone of your voice.

Future Applications

We expect Project ABEL to take 12 months to graduate from the GI Labs. The most immediate technical applications that we can currently imagine are as follows

Virtual assistant
This is the most common application for an AI being such as ABEL. The typical scenario involves training (much like staff training) around a particular product/service/company/values and then allowing ABEL to interact directly with customers through your website of telephone IVR (Interactive Voice Response).

Teenage Counseling
Most teenagers hang out on the internet. Through support and interest from appropriate social groups we can create an instance of ABEL to have the personality of a teenager, that speaks in their language (the local lingo) and comes across as someone who can relate with what they might be going through. At least, the teenagers will have a place to share their emotions - albeit with a machine, but an intelligent one.

Learning and Education
Especially in the children's education area, another instance of ABEL could be developed to provide a fun, easy way to learn new concepts online. ABEL's memory capacity is already 1.9 times that of the human brain and we believe by the time ABEL graduates from the Lab, his memory capacity will be close to 3.4 times that of a human brain.

Would you like to participate in this research?

We are not interested in building a machine that will one day take over the world. Nor do we live under the notion that a virtual entity based on AI is smarter or greater than human beings. God created humans in His own image. We can never challenge God by claiming to create something that is more intelligent than humans.

Now that you know our intentions, if you would like to be part of this research initiative then we will be glad to hear from you. If you think you have some values that you can teach ABEL then we would like you to meet him.

One of the factors determining the success of this project is to put ABEL to the  Turing Test

Drop us an email with your intentions and what you think you can do for ABEL and we will get back in touch with you.
